Eight years ago today, I pushed a button and published my Facebook Page.
Back then it was called Lipstick, Margaritas, and Hairspray and I didn’t really know what I was doing. I was posting things I found on other pages (my apologies to those pages for posting without credit), I had no idea how to create my own content (I had to look up the word “meme”!), and the page name was a 3:00 am idea that I should have reconsidered in the light of day.
What a ride this has been!
I finally figured out how to create a meme, posted often, and realized the connection to the fabulous people that liked the page.
This page, now Scattered Sasha, changed my life.
That’s not true….YOU changed my life.
Almost 5 years ago, I created something that made my entire life pivot, thanks to you. I created the Unbreakable Token, a small round piece of wood that let you know you were always Unbreakable no matter what you’ve been through or what was coming.
The emails and messages I received from so many people telling me the difference that tiny piece of wood meant to them, the message that they were Unbreakable and how much they believed in the power of those words, were what helped me know I had more to offer than memes and sarcasm. (But I really still love my sarcasm )
Eight years seems like a really long time to have a Facebook page, but I adore the connection I have with each and every one of you (ok, not the hateful ones, but I still wish them well… ), and am honored you are here to travel with me in this journey we call life.
Thanks for hanging out with me for 8 years, 8 months, 8 weeks, or 8 days….however long you’ve been here….Thank you for making Scattered Sasha a place for the good.
